Il suo tubo verticale con diametro di 38 mm contiene un galleggiante interno che misura il livello del liquido. Piccoli fori nella parte superiore e inferiore del tubo compensano il carburante che si muove nel serbatoio, in modo che la posizione del galleggiante rimanga stabile con qualsiasi condizione del mare.
